La Murrina

Murrina glass is made from a glass barrel made entirely by hand with a system unique in the world, known only in the island of Murano and consists of several passages and overlaps, using exclusively artisanal methods, giving the glass a cylindrical shape, after having marbled it several times on the bronze (a metal plane).

It is a very ancient technique that dates back to the early 900 and is currently made only in the island of Murano by master glassmakers Muranesi, this type of processing so difficult and rare was handed down from father to son for hundreds of years, and still remains the only system to create a real cane in Murrina Veneziana glass, repeating today as hundreds of years ago the same steps and the same craft system to produce a glass so unique and original in its kind. This is why it is becoming increasingly difficult and rare to find items made of real Murrina Veneziana glass.
